Chinitos (aka little Chinese owned grocery stores) are ubiquitous in Casco Viejo. While they’re not the most cleanly or gourmet market you’ve ever been to, they are endearing to our heart. Especially when we run out of milk at 10PM.

There’s one on almost every block and the atmosphere inside is like that of a Star Wars movie, with people from all over the globe talking their version of Spanish to one another, with children inside playing with toys, stray dogs running in and out, and usually one or two homeless men asking for change on your way out.
