Las Bovedas is one of the iconic restaurants in Casco Viejo that's built into the walls of an old dungeon. We don't know if it's cool or creepy to dine in a room where prisoners used to dangled among rising ocean tides: get one of the waiters or owners to tell you the history of the place!

Las Bovedas uses all fresh ingredients and offers items off an oversized chalk board which usually doesn't list everything (so ask your waiter to be sure). They make a great sangria and generally have solid seafood dishes. While some of our guests tend to find Las Bovedas a bit overpriced, there's no arguing that the atmosphere is pretty darn cool. After dinner, stroll around the plaza or, if you still have room, get an ice cream cone from Grandclement.
