Rene Café is one of our favorite restaurants in Casco Viejo. Situated as the only restaurant on the ever-pleasant Plaza Catedral, Rene Café offers a casual dining environment paired with fresh local ingredients at very reasonable prices.

The owner, Rene himself, is often there to greet you when you walk in the door. The kitchen is open air and the menu consists of several courses (prefixe) from which you select. Often there are fish, chicken, and meat options alongside lovely little salads or rice dishes.

There are also tables outside which are perfect at night (can be hot during the day time) and an entire meal at Rene Café won’t run you more than $10 for lunch (or around $15 for dinner) and that includes a handful of courses.
