The Instituto Nacional de Cultura which means the National Culture Institute is set in a grandiose white building which used to be Panama's supreme court! It's set on Plaza Francia, directly across from the French Embassy, next to Las Bovedas Restaurant.
Recently, the James Bond film crew used the INAC building and converted it into a hotel for the movie. In the new Bond flick, you can see James Bond running into the building which is fitted with fake awnings and signs reading "Grand Andean Hotel" seeing as though the scene was "set" in Boliva. For the movie, the inside of the INAC building was beautified into a place we would have loved to sleep ourselves! But when handed back over, it returned to its same old (still beautiful, but no James Bond). There is also a small theater in the INAC building which occasionally has shows. Use the form below to contact for details. INAC which is Instituto Nacional de Cultura means National Culture Institute, located in Casco Antiguo! |
