Now Offering Pets During Your Stay E-mail

Brainstorming sessions here at Los Cuatro Tulipanes are generally organized and to-the-point. And while we tend to diverge from the traditional style of meetings in that large quantities of domestic beers are generally consumed, we do regularly come up with useful ideas that make Tulipanes a better place to stay.

It was not long ago, during one of these meetings, that one of our better ideas arose.

"What about pets?" a friend proposed.

"Pets?"

"Yeah...like...you offer pets to guests when they stay. Like, here, we'll give you this gerbil, but you need to leave a deposit."

Everyone mulled the idea for a few moments before several of us burst out in laughter.

"What?" the idea man defended. "So, say a guest wants a cat when they stay here? You say you try to make them feel at home right? Well what if guests have cats at home? I could think of no better way to welcome guests with open arms than to have a cat jump into theirs."

He had a valid point, though the idea of renting pets, for some reason, didn't sound analogous with Panama's tourism board bylaws. We took pleasure in envisioning our office as the holding area for all these pets, a virtual jungle of dogs, fish, and monkeys (we felt these might be the best selling point) from which guests may choose.

We hypothesized guests checking in on the morning of arrival. "Welcome, here are your keys and your area map" we would tell them. "Would you care to opt for a toucan? Perhaps a three-toed sloth during your stay?"

After thinking it over, I couldn't come up with any other hotel in the world that rents out pets and for that Los Cuatro Tulipanes might just be on to something.
