La LegacionAvenida Central and Calle 4 Casco Antiguo, San Felipe >> Details of apartment La Legacion 4 >> Details of apartment La Legacion 5 Building DetailsOne of Casco Viejo's newest additions to the recently completed list is La Legacion. It is estimated that La Legacion was originally constructed around 1870. In 1883, the mute engineer Jules Dingler, chief engineer of the Compagnie Universelle du Canal Interoceanique lived here. Once the United States assumed the construction of the Canal, this became the residence of the chief engineer, John Wallace. He was the first authority of the American Canal-Era at the beginning of the 20th century, and subsequently, La Legacion was the first headquarters of the American Embassy or "Legacion" in Panama. This stunning 3-Story building sits on the corner of Avenida Central and Calle 4, right in the heart of Casco Viejo. Not but a block away from Plaza Catedral, Plaza Bolivar and the bay, this beautiful building is perfectly located for all patrons who walk through its doors. From the tiled floors to the grandiose dark oak stained staircase; this building will inspire a sense of awe to any visitor whether it be its beauty or walking up the 4 flights of stairs Whether you are renting La Legacion 4 or 5, you will have the luxury of your location. Open the doors to your balcony and you will join the streets of Casco Viejo. If you time it right, Wednesday at 8pm your ears will be filled with the local tunes of Casa Gongora and their visiting artists. Feel free to stop by (it's free :)) and bring some wine and snacks, or feel free to enjoy the music from the comforts of your own balcony, such is your choice. |
